Possible new nova in Puppis Discovered by John Seach, Grafton, NSW, Australia. Object visible on 3 images taken with DSLR and 85 mm f/1.4 lens. Magnitude 11.7. No variable star at position. No object on DSS2-red. No minor planet. No object at position on images taken with same instrument on 2025 October 15.792 UT, limiting magnitude 12.0

Follow up observation. Object has brightened to magnitude 11.2. Observed using a 106 mm f/5.0 refractor with CCD and luminance filter, remotely operated from SkyGems network, Namibia. John Seach, Grafton, NSW Australia.

Position end figures 45s.26, 38.4" measured with Skygems Observatory 0.45m f/4 reflector + CCD, Namibia. J2000, Gaia DR3 positions. Transient position is within 0.66" of Gaia DR3 5561549440740425216 (G magnitude = 19.25). This transient has been reported as a CV via AAVSO VSX named 1eRASS J072044.9-402838 (https://vsx.aavso.org/index.php?view=detail.top&oid=10868116) Unfiltered magnitude 11.68.
