D. Grennan, Raheny Observatory, Dublin, Ireland, reports his discovery of an apparent supernova (Mag approx +14.5)in UGC 5460. The suspect was detected on a stack of 10 unfiltered CCD images, exposure 90 seconds with a limiting magnitude of +19.5. The image was obtained on 2011 06.05 and was taken with a .35m Schmidt Cassegrain telescope and SBIG ST8 CCD. The new object is located at (R.A.= 10 08 10.58 DEC = +51 50 57.6 which is 66.7" East and 15.6" North of UGC 5046. Nothing is visible at this location on eithe POSS Red or Blue plates (limiting mag +21.0). The Minor Planet checker shows no object at or near this location (within 15 minutes of arc). Subsequent follow up images show the object has not moved in over 2 hours of imaging. An image of this suspect can be found here; http://www.webtreatz.com/images/U5460.jpg.

In my earlier report, please forgive a typographical error. The following "which is 66.7" East and 15.6" North of UGC 5046" should of course read "which is 66.7" East and 15.6" North of UGC 5460"
