This possible supernova was observed by V. Nevski with 0.3-m reflector + CCD at Vitebsk observatory (near Vitebsk, Belarus, MPCCOD: B42), yield position end figures 28s.90, 47".9 (UCAC-3 catalogue) and the following magnitude: R = 18.1. Nothing is visible at this position on a Palomar Sky Survey DSS image obtained on 1997-06-25 (via the Digitized Sky Survey; limiting red mag 21).
