S. Leonini, Siena, Italy, on behalf of Montarrenti Observatory Supernovae Search, report the pre-discovery of an apparent supernova at mag. 17.8CR on 2011 May 20.910UT using a 0.53m f/7.8 Ritchey-Chretien telescope (+ Apogee Alta U47) located at R.A. = 13h49m37.47s, Decl. = +04o14'35".1 (equinox 2000.0) which is 20" west and 13" north of the nucleus of UGC08740. Nothing is visible at the position of the apparent supernova on image taken on 2011 Mar 25.005 (limiting mag 19.0).The image is posted at URL http://www.jacopobaldi.it/dati/pre-discovery%20PSN%20UGC08740.jpg

This possible supernova in PGC 49067 was seen with 9 x 600 sec images using a red filter. Astrometry: RA 13 49 37.47 Dec 04 14 30.4 Photometry: Mag 18.3 +/- 0.1 R These data were collected by Joseph Brimacombe, Cairns, Australia.
