Simone Leonini, Siena, Italy, report the discovery by S. Leonini, G. Guerrini, M. Conti, P. Rosi and L.M. Tinjaca Ramirez of an apparent supernova in NGC5837(mag. about +16.56CR +/-0.16 – USNO B1 catalogue) on two unfiltered CCD images (limiting mag. about +19.0) taken on 2014 March 09.99272 UT at the Montarrenti Observatory (IAU code C88)in the course of an automatic survey of the Italian Supernovae Search Project. Telescope/camera: RC 0.53m f/8.7 + U47. Astrometry: R.A. 15h04m40.09s +/-0.23”, Decl.+12degrees37arcmin54.0arcsec. +/-0.20”. No stellar source is visible at the position in our past images including one dated 2014 Mar 03 (limiting mag. about +17.0) and one dated 2014 Feb 24 (limiting mag. about +18.7). No known minor planets are marked in that position for the time of our observation. The image of the apparent supernova is posted at http://www.astrofilisenesi.it/public/Sne/Uploads/PSN_NGC5837.jpg

2014 03 13.008

This transient was observed on 2014 03 13.008 by Gianluca Masi, Francesca Nocentini and Patrick Schmeer, remotely using the 17"-f/6.8 corrected Dall-Kirkham robotic unit part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility, at Bellatrix Astronomical Observatory in Ceccano, Italy. 120-seconds exposures, unfiltered, show the source at mag. 16.7 (R mags for the reference stars from UCAC-4). We also performed astrometry, getting the following end figures: 40.08; 54.0 (J2000.0, mean residuals of 0.2" on both axes).
