Galactic transient discovered by ASASSN (as reported by K. Z. Stanek for the ASASSN team). Designated ASASSN-26fc and notified via TNS Astronomical Transient Report No. 322928 (https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2026abbx/discovery-cert). Last non detection on 2026 Sept 7.0896 UT with limiting magnitude 17.1.

Position end figures 06s.81, 20.7" measured with Perth Observatory 0.35m f/6 RCOP reflector + CCD, Bickley, Western Australia. J2000, Gaia DR2 positions. Transient position is within 1.07" of Gaia DR3 catalogue star Gaia 4068590156924394752 (G magnitude = 19.9). Photometry - B = 13.74, V = 11.32, R = 9.67 and I = 8.06. Andrew Pearce, Nedlands, W. Australia.

2026 09 13.811

This transient was observed by Gianluca Masi, on 2026 Sept. 13.811, remotely using the 14" robotic unit part of the Virtual Telescope Project facility in Manciano, Italy. He took some low res spectra, using a grating with 200 lines/mm, providing a dispersion of about 13.5 Angstrom/pixel: they show a very strong H-alpha emission, plus evident emission at O I 7773 Angstrom and O I 8446 Angstrom, clearly showing this is a nova. The transient was found at R=9.8 (R mags for the reference stars from Gaia DR2).
