F. Ciabattari, E. Mazzoni and G. Petroni report the discovery of an apparent supernova (unfiltered magnitude = 17.2) on images (limiting magnitude 19.5) obtained on August 11.94 and August 12.83 with a 0.5m Newtonian telescope + CCD FLI Proline 4710 camera at Borgo a Mozzano - Italy, in the course of the Italian Supernovae Search Project. The new object is located at A.R. = 18h53m18s.45, Decl. = +33°03'52".7 (equinox 2000.0, astrometry with respect to UCAC-2 stars) which is 5 arcsec West and 8 arcsec South of the centre of Galaxy IC 1296.
