Discovered by Hideo Nishimura, Kakegawa, Shizuoka-ken, Japan, who found this star on three frames (limit mag.= 13.9) taken with Canon EOS 6D digital camera + 200-mm f/3.2 lens, who writes nothing is visible at the discovery position on three frames taken on 2020 Aug. 14.477 UT with same instrument.

The best progenitor candidate is the blue star PSO J200346.517+133513.266 (gmag. 21.36, rmag. 21.51) with position end figures 46.51s in RA and 13.2" in DE. Other designations are SDSS J200346.50+133513.2 (umag. 21.4, gmag. 21.3, rmag. 21.3, imag. 21.5), GALEX J200346.3+133511 (NUVmag. 21.4), and GALEX J200346.3+133509 (FUVmag. 21.2, NUVmag. 21.9).
