Discovered by C. Jacques, C. Colesanti, C. Barreto, E. Pimentel, I. Mussi, J. Ribeiro, M. Domingues, J. Amancio, L. Amaral, P. Holvorcem, T. Napoleao on behalf of the Brazilian Transient Search - BraTS - at SONEAR Observatory, Oliveira, Brazil in three frames with 10 seconds exposure using an astrograph 280mm f/2.2 + CCD unfiltered, with magnitude 12.7 under limiting mag = 17.0. Nothing is visible at this location on the previous frame (limiting mag = 17.4) taken on 2020 Jun 13.1806 UT.

The likely progenitor is the (blue) Gaia DR2 source No. 6450188860160094720 (Gmag. 20.44, BPmag. 20.4, RPmag. 20.3) at 21 13 08.044 -62 42 22.66 (epoch J2015.5, equinox J2000.0). Other designations are USNO-A2.0 0225-31065723, USNO-B1.0 0272-0915869, USNO-B1.0 0272-0915868, GSC2.3 SAWA012721 (Fmag. 20.0, Bjmag. 20.5), APOP 46890+0012721, DES J211308.02-624222.4, GALEX J211308.1-624223, WD J211308.01-624222.09. This object is also listed as an RR Lyrae (RRab) candidate in 2019AJ....158...16S. The transient is confirmed by recent ASAS-SN Sky Patrol (Shappee et al. 2014ApJ...788...48S and Kochanek et al. 2017PASP..129j4502K) observations: 2020 June 22.952 UT, gmag. fainter than 17.9; 30.985 UT, gmag. 12.72.
