INTERNATIONAL TIME SIGNALS
The Astronomer Royal, Dr. R. v. d. R. Woolley, communicates:
"Arrangements have nov been completeed, with the cooperation
of the Engineer-in-Chief, Post Office, for rehearsal signals on
the days preceding the special radio time signal transmissions
on 1959 October 2 for the convenience of observers of the total
eclipse of the Sun.
The schedule is now as follows:
Frequency 17 685 kc/s
Power 20 kW
26th to 30th September Transmission at normal times of
(inclusive) 1000 and 1800 G.M.T.
1st October Transmission 0900 to 1300 G.M.T.
2nd October Transmission 0900 to 1500 G.M.T."
