Dr. Elizabeth Roemer, University of Arizona, communicates the
following precise position, obtained by L. M. Vaughn and herself
with the Steward Observatory's 229-cm reflector on Kitt Peak.
Measurer: Carolyn C. McCarthy. Some of the reference stars (from
the Astrographic Catalogue) show large residuals.

The following improved jovicentric elements (with the angular
elements referred to the ecliptic), by K. Aksnes, Center for
Astrophysics, Harvard and Smithsonian Observatories, satisfy the
eight available observations within 1".5. Perturbations by the sun,
Saturn and the earth were taken into account. The uncertainty in P
is judged now to be not more than a few days.
