NOVA VULPECULAE 1976
     S. W. Milbourn, British Astronomical Association, reports that
G. E. D. Alcock, Peterborough, has discovered a nova as follows:

     1976 UT R. A. (1950) Decl. mv
     Oct. 21.764 19 27.1 +20 21 6.5

A spectrogram obtained by E. A. Harlan and M. Phillips, Lick
Observatory, on Oct. 22.2 shows that the nova is near maximum.

NOVA SAGITTARII 1975 No. 2
     I. Lundstrom and B. Stenholm, Lund Observatory, write that
they have observed on a plate taken at Mount Stromlo Observatory on
1975 June 8 a spectrum that obviously refers to a declining nova.
The position is R.A. = 17h46m.2, Decl. = -17o22'.2 (equinox 1950.0). The
visual magnitude on the plate is about 9, and the spectral appearance
indicates that the nova was about 3 magnitudes below maximum.
