PERIODIC COMET VAISALA 1 (1981l)
     J. Gibson reports that he has recovered this comet on
exposures with the 1.2-m Schmidt telescope at Palomar as follows:

     1981 UT R. A. (1950) Decl. m1
     Dec. 7.47953 7 06 17.07 +11 56 01.9 20.5
          18.335 7 00.15 +12 10.9
          18.397 7 00.10 +12 11.1

The comet is essentially of stellar appearance. The indicated
correction to the predictions in BAA Handb. for 1981 and MPC 6212
(elements on Nakano Note No. 396) is Delta-T = -0.03 to -0.04 day.
