COMET KOWAL (1983t)
Charles T. Kowal, California Institute of Technology, reports
his discovery of a comet on exposures with the 1.2-m Schmidt
telescope at Palomar. The object was diffuse and condensed with a
tail less than 1P long.

The following parabolic and representative elliptical orbits have
been determined. It is quite probable that the comet is a short-
period one, but the orbit is completely indeterminate. Three
current ephemerides are provided, from these as well as from an
intermediate set of elements. The magnitude should be ~ 15-17.
