B2 1506+34
     I. Kazes and J. Crovisier, Observatoire de Paris, Meudon; D.
Despois, Observatoire de Bordeaux; and J. M. Dickey, University of
Minnesota, report: "In a recent extragalactic OH survey with the
Nancay radio telescope, we detected the radio source B2 1506+34,
which is identified with a 15.6-mag peculiar galaxy (Colla et al.
1975, A. Ap. Suppl. 20, 1). The spectrum displays a prominent
absorption in both mainlines 1665 (C = 0.035) and 1667 (C = 0.07)
MHz; the line widths are ~ 135 km/s. Furthermore, some maser
emission is suggested around 13 600 km/s. This is the first strong
molecular absorption detected at a distance of 270 Mpc."

LILLER'S VARIABLE IN NORMA
Further to the item on IAUC 4035, H. Drechsel and A. C. Danks
used the European Southern Observatory 1-m telescope with the InSb
detector and obtained the following photometric magnitudes (+/- 0.01)
on Feb. 8 UT: J = 6.53; H = 5.41; K = 4.95; L = 4.47; M = 4.58 (+/-
0.10). These colors again confirm the object as a very-late-type
star, with strong infrared excess.

Visual magnitude estimates by R. H. McNaught, Siding Spring
Observatory: Feb. 10.75 UT, 13.1; 11.74, 13.2; 14.59, 13.3.

HT CASSIOPEIAE
Further visual magnitude estimates (cf. IAUC 4027), most
provided via E. Waagen, AAVSO: Jan. 20.978 UT, 12.8 (C. Scovil,
Stamford, CT); 21.503, 12.5 (F. Sakuma, Kawasaki, Japan); 22.082, 12.7
(M. Borgman, Allentown, PA); 22.82, 13.0 (G. Hurst, Basingstoke,
England); 23.052, 13.3 (Scovil); 23.352, 13.5 (Borgman); 24.088,
13.7 (M. Heifner, Denver, CO); 25.998, 15.0 (Scovil); 28.001, 15.8
(J. Griese, Newington, CT); 28.104, 15.7 (Scovil).

COMET LEVY-RUDENKO (1984t)
Total visual magnitude estimates: 1984 Dec. 31.55 UT, 8.0 (C.
Morris, 0.25-m reflector, Whitaker Peak, CA); 1985 Jan. 3.55, 7.8
(Morris, 20x80 binoculars, near Mt. Wilson, CA); 8.98, 8.0 (J. E.
Bortle, 20x80 binoculars, Stormville, NY); 9.97, 8.0 (Bortle);
18.53, 7.8 (Morris); 20.52, 8.1 (Morris).
