PERIODIC COMET HARTLEY (1985f)
     M. Hartley, U.K. Schmidt Telescope Unit, provides the
following additional precise position:

         1985 UT R.A. (1950.0) Decl.

         July 10.44414 12 31 06.33 -10 00 01.9

An orbit determination from the available positions (see also
IAUC 4079) shows the comet to be a short-period one:

SUPERNOVA 1985L IN NGC 5033
The following precise position has been measured by J. E.
Sinclair from an exposure made on July 16 with the astrographic
telescope at the Royal Greenwich Observatory: R.A. = 13h11m03s48, Decl. =
+36deg52'25"6 (equinox 1950.0). The offset from the nucleus of the
galaxy is 70" west, 55" north.

Visual magnitude estimates by M. Verdenet, Bourbon-Lancy,
France: July 1, 12.8; 2, 13.2; 6, 13.2; 7, 13.3; 8, 13.3.
