A new comet has been discovered by Carolyn S. and Eugene M.
Shoemaker. The following observations are available:

J. Mattei, AAVSO, communicates the following magnitude estiates
by J. Bortle, Stormville, NY, that suggest that another outburst
is occurring (cf. IAUC 4038): Jan. 12.3 UT, 9.0; 13.3, 9.0.
