eta CARINAE
     P. A. Whitelock, South African Astronomical Observatory,
telexes: "Observations by the SAAO infrared group show that the JHKL
magnitudes of eta Car have brightened by ~ 0.2 over the past year.
There appears to be evidence that the infrared variations are
quasiperiodic on a timescale of ~ 1800 days, in which case a maximum
is to be expected around the middle of 1986."
