TWX 710-320-6842 ASTROGRAM CAM Telephone 617-495-7244/7440/7444 NO SUPERNOVA IN IC 4329A Several observers, including R. O. Evans, T. Gehrels, A. C. Gilmore and R. H. McNaught, have reported their failure to detect any new object brighter than mag 14-16 during Mar. 31-Apr. 3 in the vicinity of IC 4329A (cf. IAUC 4198). SUPERNOVA 1986A IN NGC 3367 G. Pearce, University of Birmingham; R. Ellis and I. Parry, University of Durham; and I. N. Reid, Royal Greenwich Observatory, telex the following line identifications obtained during Feb. 9-13 with the Isaac Newton Telescope: Fe II? (521.5 nm), Si II (545.4, 564.0, 635.5), Si II + Na D? (597.2), O I (777.3), Ca II (857.9). SUPERNOVA 1986B IN NGC 5101 With reference to the note on IAUC 4190 (and amended on IAUC 4191), R. O. Evans, Hazelbrook, N.S.W., writes that that no supernova was detected in this galaxy to limiting mag 14.5 (possibly 15.0) during several visual patrols as recently as 1985 Aug. 17.
