     R. H. McNaught reports that a 30-min J exposure by D. Waldon
on Jan. 29.45 UT with the U.K. Schmidt telescope shows a narrow

p.a. 180 deg, increasing in intensity and length to 15' in p.a. 238 deg.
Further total visual magnitude estimates: Jan. 27.84 UT, 8.5
(J. Campos, Warner Beach, R.S.A., 0.13-m refractor); 29.44, 7.2 (D.
