1988 TJ1
     C. S. and E. M. Shoemaker report the discovery of a fast-moving
asteroidal object with the 0.46-m Schmidt telescope at Palomar:

     1988 UT             R.A. (1950) Decl.       Mag.
     Oct. 12.29201    0 03 05.20   +33 34 03.0   17

           6.31806    0 53 55.78   - 2 23 55.9

     Preliminary orbital elements by B. G. Marsden, Center for
Astrophysics, show this to be an Amor-type object:

     T = 1988 Nov. 15.96 ET           Peri. = 192.69
     e = 0.1684                       Node  = 214.87    1950.0
     q = 1.1393 AU                    Incl. =  15.67
       a =  1.3700 AU      n = 0.61463      P =   1.60 years

PSR 1957+20
    F. Makino and the Ginga Team, Institute of Space and Astronautical
Science, telex: "A search for x-ray emission from binary pulsar PSR
1957+20 was conducted with the Large Area Counters aboard Ginga on
Oct. 10. The upper limit defined as the confusion limit was 6 x 10E-12
erg/cm2/s in the energy range 2-10 keV for a Crab-like spectrum."

1988 November 14               (4674)             Daniel W. E. Green
