SUPERNOVA 1988V IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY
     E. Cappellaro and M. Turatto, Asiago Astrophysical Observatory,
report the discovery by G. Candeo of a supernova 7" north and 1" east
of the nucleus of an anonymous galaxy at R.A. = 23h36m.7, Decl. =
+26 58' (equinox 1950.0). A Schmidt plate exposed on Nov. 6 shows
the object at magnitude V about 16.5. G. Fasano confirmed the
discovery on Nov. 12 and 13 with the 1.82-m reflector.

V1333 AQUILAE
     F. Makino and the Ginga Team, Institute of Space and Astronautical
Science, telex: "The All Sky X-ray Monitor (ASM) aboard the Ginga
satellite has detected flaring activity from V1333 Aql (Aql X-1)
since Nov. 4. The x-ray intensities in Crab units were 0.21 +/- 0.02,
0.16 +/- 0.04, and 0.54 +/- 0.02 on Nov. 3.69, 6.33, and 9.58 UT,
respectively. A flare from V1333 Aql was also observed in early 1987
Mar. with the ASM. The underlying cycle of 122-125 days predicted by
Priedhorsky and Terrell (1984, Ap.J. 280, 661) is plausible.
Optical monitoring would be valuable."
