     This apparently asteroidal object with a very cometlike orbit has
been recovered by C. S. Shoemaker, E. M. Shoemaker and D. H. Levy with
the 0.46-m Schmidt telescope at Palomar as follows:

     A prediction from the orbital elements on MPC 9959 required
correction by +10 days. The following improved orbital elements, by the
undersigned, are from 12 observations 1984-1991:

     Recent visual magnitude estimates, in part submitted by the AAVSO,
indicate that this dwarf nova (cf. IAUC 4249, 4252, 4258) is in
outburst: Mar. 19.17 UT, [13.2 (P. Schmeer, Bischmisheim, Germany);
28.15, 11.0 (Schmeer); 29.02, 11.6 (O. Midtskogen, Tranby, Norway);
29.40, 11.5 (J. Griese, Stamford, CT).
