SUPERNOVA 2002dj IN NGC 5018
     D. Hutchings and W. D. Li, University of California at
Berkeley, report the LOTOSS (cf. IAUC 7906) discovery of an
apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT CCD images taken on June 12.2
(mag about 17.0) and 13.2 UT (mag about 16.4). SN 2002dj is
located at R.A. = 13h13m00s.34, Decl. = -19o31'08".7 (equinox
2000.0), which is 8".9 west and 2".8 south of the nucleus of NGC
5018. A KAIT image taken on June 3.2 showed nothing at this
position (limiting mag about 18.5).

COMETS C/2002 L3 AND C/2002 L4 (SOHO)
Further to IAUC 7916, D. Hammer reports his measurements of
additional Kreutz-sungrazing comets found by D. Hanson (C/2002 L3)
and M. Meyer (C/2002 L4) on SOHO website C2 images. Reduced
astrometry and orbital elements by B. G. Marsden appear on MPEC
2002-L31.

    Comet 2002 UT R.A. (2000) Decl.
    C/2002 L3 June 7.064 4 57.2 +20 55
    C/2002 L4 7.204 4 59.6 +20 57

COMET C/2001 H8 (SOHO)
Hammer also reports his measurements of another Kreutz-
sungrazing comet found by X. Leprette on SOHO website C2 images.
Reduced astrometry and orbital elements by Marsden appear on MPEC
2002-K72.

    Comet 2001 UT R.A. (2000) Decl.
    C/2001 H8 Apr. 17.746 1 48.7 + 9 33

COMET 29P/SCHWASSMANN-WACHMANN 1
This comet appears again to be in outburst, as indicated by
the following total-magnitude estimates (visual unless otherwise
noted): Mar. 20.83 UT, [16: (T. Kojima, Chiyoda, Japan, 0.25-m
reflector + CCD); 27.80, 14.4 (Kojima); May 8.46, 13.5 (A. Hale,
Cloudcroft, NM, 0.41-m reflector); 9.46, 13.3 (Hale); 21.45, 13.3
(Hale); June 8.39, 12.3 (Hale; near-stellar appearance); 9.75, 12.0
(A. Nakamura, Kuma, Ehime, Japan, 0.60-m reflector + CCD; strong
condensation).
