TRANSIENT X-RAY SOURCES
     G. Jernigan, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, reports
the following position, measured with the rotating modulation
collimators on SAS-3 on June 12 and 15, of the transient x-ray source
A1524-61 = TrA X-1: R.A. = 15h24m08s, Decl. = -61o42'.5 (equinox 1950.0).
This position, which has a 90-percent confidence error radius of
1'.5, lies 7'.5 from the position reported by Watson (IAUC 2808).
During the SAS-3 observations Cir X-1 was also in the field of view
of the modulation collimators, and the resultant position of that
object agrees with the Uhuru position within about 1'. This lends
added confidence to the above position of A1524-61. The intensity
of A1524-61 in the 1-10 keV energy range was found to be ~ 0.2
counts cm**-2 s**-1, which is consistent with the post flare intensity
reported by Holt (preprint).

     M. J. L. Turner, X-Ray Astronomy Group, University of Leicester,
reports that the right ascension of the x-ray source described
on IAUC 2814 is 6h21m, not 6h01m. This source, now designated
A0621-00, had a brightness of 20 000 Uhuru flux units on Aug. 11.
