From Orient. Astron. Assoc. Comet Bull. No. 117.
A. C. Gilmore (Carter Observatory). Measurer: P. M. Kilmartin.

According to Japan Astron. Circ. No. 37 the comet was observed
by S. Utsunomiya, Oguni, Kumamoto, on 1975 Nov. 30.847 UT (m1 = 9.5-10,
coma diameter 4'-5') but could not then be confirmed.

Total visual magnitude estimates: 1975 Dec. 21.49 UT, 8.5 (P.
Maley, Houston, Texas, 13-cm refractor); 1976 Jan. 5.42, 10.5 (S.
McMillan, Brisbane, Queensland, 30-cm reflector, 67 x).
