R CrB VARIABLES
     F. M. Bateson, Royal Astronomical Society of New Zealand,
reports the observation below by P. Williams of RY Sgr and suggests
that the star is probably declining to a deep minimum.  Recent visual
magnitude estimates: May 4.4 UT, 6.2 (L. Hiett, Arlington, Virginia);
5.38, 6.3 (T. Wilson, Lesage, West Virginia); 5.4, 6.2
(Hiett); 9.4, 6.3 (Hiett); 20.4, 6.6 (Hiett); 24, 7.3 (Williams);
26.31, 7.3 (Wilson).

     J. Mattei, American Association of Variable Star Observers,
informs us that the suspected R CrB variable V482 Cyg was reported
between visual magnitudes 10.9 and 11.8 from 1968 until Jan. 1976.
Recent magnitude estimates indicate that it is fading: Apr. 24.1 UT,
12.4 (W. M. Lowder, Scarsdale, New York); June 5.1, 13.0 (J. E.
Bortle, Brooks Observatory).


B2 1308+326
     J. J. Broderick, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State
University; and R. L. Brown, National Radio Astronomy Observatory,
report: "Observations obtained during May 8-10 with the 11-m telescope
at a frequency of 90 GHz yielded a continuum flux density of
2.5 +/- 0.3 Jy.  The radio spectrum of this BL-Lac object is similar
to that of many quasars in that it peaks near 1 cm (IAUC 2954); in
contrast the spectrum of BL Lac itself increases from centimeter
through millimeter wavelengths."


LUNAR OCCULTATION OF JUPITER'S GALILEAN SATELLITES
     D. W. Dunham communicates the following prediction of the
reappearance of Jupiter's Galilean satellites at the moon's dark limb
(13-percent sunlit) on June 23.  The local circumstances are for
Lembang, Java (cf. IAUC 2950 for further information), where Jupiter
itself reappears at 21h39m.9 UT in position angle 199o.5.
